Green roof garden

This garden is a true collaboration between designer and client. The 'wish list' included a space for dining, a logshed and a garden office. The office was specially built to support a roof made from both living mats of sedum and 'distressed' corrugated iron. Reclaimed windows and an old door added to its character.  A hedge of bulky laurels were removed, with Phillyrea latifolia making a much lighter addition to a sunny mixed border. Hard landscaping materials were re used as far as possible. The new cuvaceous layout eventually included a new route to exit to the garden and a door being knocked through the kitchen wall!
